Have you ever needed to send money to someone quickly? Tracking them down in person or mailing a check isn’t always the most convenient way to do that. That’s why HUECU has partnered with Zelle®, a fast (often instantaneous) way to send and receive money between yourself and people you trust. All you need to know is a person’s preferred email address or phone number, and you can send or request funds to almost anyone with a U.S. bank account – just make sure it’s a person you know and trust. Now, splitting the lunch tab is easier than ever!
The first step to using Zelle® is to enroll in Online Banking. Through your online banking account or mobile app, you’ll be able to send and request money through Zelle®. Just navigate to “More” and select “Send Money with Zelle®.” You’ll need to be ready to input your email address or phone number (U.S. numbers only) and that of your recipient.
Next, you’ll need to choose a recipient and an amount. To send money, simply select “send” and to request, select “request”2 – it’s that easy! Your recipient will get a notification explaining how to complete the payment, and you can even add a personal note to help you keep track of your transactions. In most cases, the money you send or receive through Zelle® is available in minutes.1
Besides being fast and secure, there are a lot of benefits to using Zelle®. The convenience can’t be beat! Since Zelle® is now an integrated part of HUECU’s Online Banking platform, you won’t need to download a separate app to use the service. And, even if your friends bank somewhere different, you can still use Zelle® to send money between any U.S.-based bank. So you don’t need to rush to the ATM next time you owe a friend money – you can treat Zelle® like cash!
Best of all, using Zelle® is totally free! That means you won’t be hit with any pesky transaction fees.
If you don’t already have the HEUCU mobile app, download it today to get started using Zelle® and a number of other mobile banking tools designed to make your financial journey easy and secure.
