Harvard University Employees Credit Union is thrilled to announce a newly expanded partnership with Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA)!

Formed in 1904, Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) has worked for over a century to mobilize student volunteers to address gaps in opportunities and resources. PBHA is student-led, with support from full-time staff and partners in Boston and Cambridge – enabling it to provide vital experiences for students in service and activism, as well as offer a range of programs to meet community needs throughout the Greater Boston area.  PBHA runs over 80 programs across the community, including the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, the Y2Y Harvard Square Shelter, Alzheimer’s Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, Alternative Spring Break, Women and Men’s Empowerment and Prison Education Program, and many other programs described in detail at www.pbha.org.

Through the partnership, HUECU will support PBHA on its mission to promote social awareness and community involvement at Harvard and beyond. HUECU’s assistance throughout the year will include sponsoring PBHA’s annual Summer Urban Program (SUP) auction – a fundraising event held every spring to raise money for PBHA’s student-run summer camps that serve over 1,000 kids and teens in Greater Boston and Cambridge. HUECU will also organize volunteering activities for HUECU employees to work alongside students, and present new opportunities for HUECU members and employees to engage with various PBHA programs.

Now more than ever, PBHA students and staff remain committed to showing up for Greater Boston youth and families to provide a high quality summer experience that furthers academic skill development, social emotional learning, and community connection during COVID-19. PBHA continues to run the Y2Y homeless shelter and have adapted many of their services to online platforms. The in person auction, has moved to a virtual auction and as always all money raised will go to support affordable, enriching experiences for local youth via PBHA’s summer program which will be held in part virtually for 2020.

HUECU welcomes all members and community partners to join PBHA May 1st - 15th for their 17th Annual Summer Urban Program (SUP) Virtual Auction .
